The payment journey
Here's what happens when a client pays by card:
1. Client pays
They click "Pay" in their portal and enter card details.
2. Payment processed
Stripe securely processes the payment. This takes seconds.
3. You're notified
You see the payment in RemindToPay immediately.
4. Money held briefly
Stripe holds the funds for 1-2 days (standard process).
5. Payout to your bank
Money arrives in your bank account.
How long until I get paid?
Typically 2-3 business days after the client pays.
Where does the fee go?
The processing fee is deducted before money reaches your bank.
Example: Client pays £100, fee is £3.20, you receive £96.80.
Can I speed this up?
Payout timing is controlled by Stripe. Instant payouts may be available for established accounts (Stripe feature).
